We published approximately 50 pamphlets starting in 1985 with Listen Anarchist!, and sold somewhere north of 100,000 of them over the years. Due to the coming of the Internet and the easy availability of short-form works there, sales started to decline in the late 1990s and the handwriting was on the wall by the first decade of this century. So, even though we should have done it earlier, we stopped publishing new pamphlets in 2009. Almost all of the remaining stock was gone within a dozen years after that, so we've ceased selling pamphlets.
We've posted cover graphics and brief descriptions of several of them here to give you an idea of their variety. And we usually toss in a free pamphlet (our choice, not yours) with book orders. In place of pamphlets, in 2013 we began to publish new short-form works as e-books, and you can find them along with our other books on our books page. We're also bringing out a hugely expanded edition of one of our first and best-selling pamphlets, The Heretic's Guide to the Bible, in 2024 as an e-book. You can find two of our other pamphlets in their entirety in The Anarchist Cookbook, which we published in 2015 as an antidote to the misleading and dangerous (to its readers) bomb- and drug-making manual with the same title. Astrology: Fraud or Superstition?, by Chaz Bufe.
This pamphlet briefly but thoroughly debunks astrology's supposed scientific basis and takes a close look at why anyone would believe in such patent nonsense. 
Bourgeois Influences on Anarchism,
by Luigi Fabbri.
The first English translation of Fabbri's classic dissection of problems which still plague anarchism today, such as the identification of anarchism in the capitalist press with disorganization, chaos, and terrorism, and the consequent embracement of such things by some "anarchists." 
Christianity & Slavery, by Joseph McCabe.
This H-J reprint provides a good overview of the disgraceful relationship of christianity to slavery, and is an excellent antidote to christian apologists who claim that christianity led the fight against slavery. 
The Crimes of Jehovah, Mark Mirabello, author/editor.
Dozens of Old Testament passages taken from the King James version of the bible reveal the judeo-christian god to be vindictive, sadistic, self-contradictory, and remarkably juvenile. 
A History of Satanism, by Joseph McCabe.
This Haldeman-Julius reprint provides a detailed history and analysis of the intimate connection between christianity and satanism, demonstrating that they're merely two sides of the same coin. 
Horrors of the Inquisition, by Joseph McCabe.
This H-J reprint is the perfect antidote to catholic apologists who claim that the Inquisition wasn't all that bad. Enlightening but horrifying. 
How Christianity Grew Out of Paganism, by Joseph McCabe.
This Haldeman-Julius reprint briefly but clearly shows how christianity adopted virtually all of its central myths and ceremonies directly from pagan religions. 
The Individual, Society and the State, by
Emma Goldman.
This long out-of-print pamphlet is one of Emma Goldman's final essays. In this edition we've fixed the numerous and sometimes serious typographical errors — up to and including missing phrases which rendered entire sentences gibberish — which marred the original and subsequent editions of this pamphlet 
Libertarian Communism, by Isaac Puente.
An important pamphlet that provided inspiration to Spanish anarchists prior to the 1936–1939 Spanish Revolution. 
The Meaning of Atheism, by E. Haldeman-Julius.
The title says it all in this reprint of the classic H-J pamphlet. This is one of the most lucid and entertaining expositions of the atheist position ever written. 
Pagan Christs, by Joseph McCabe.
Covers the same ground as How Christianity Grew Out of Paganism, but in considerably more detail. Well written and amusing. 
The Revolutionary Pleasure of Thinking for Yourself,

This often-revised and reprinted situationist pamphlet concerns everyday life, and what to do about it. This edition of this pamphlet is readable, as the marxist/situationist jargon has been edited out of it and replaced with plain English. 16 pp. / $1.50 
Thumbscrew& Rack, by George E. MacDonald.
An enlightening, heavily illustrated guide to the instruments of torture used by organized christianity to persuade heretics and witches of the truth of the One True Faith. 
20 Reasons to Abandon Christianity, by Chaz Bufe.
An ideal gift for anyone intelligent enough to harbor doubts about the truth of christianity, but who hasn't yet put the whole picture together. Includes discussions of christianity's cruelty, arrogance, authoritarianism, dishonesty, misogyny, homophobia, and morbid sexual preoccupations. 
You Call This Freedom?, by Chaz Bufe.
This pamphlet looks closely at the common belief that the United States is a "free country," comparing rhetoric with reality. It considers common conceptions of freedom, why so few "freedom loving Americans" actually have any understanding of freedom, and why so few have any respect for it. It goes on to trace this lack of understanding and lack of respect to the various American institutions responsible for the wholesale indoctrination of the public. It concludes by examining the nature of freedom, especially aspects of it which are never mentioned in the "miseducation system" or the corporate media. |
